Channel 4 Television Corporation
Public Company; 1001-5000 employees; Broadcast Media industry
January 2010 – October 2013 (3 years 10 months) London, United Kingdom
I assembled a new team to manage C4’s VoD and Display operations. During this role I have significantly developed my knowledge of the digital business. I have a unique set of skills that combine online with broadcast, understanding the strategic benefits to both media owners and advertisers.
The dynamism and variety of this role has allowed me to collaborate with many internal stakeholders, from Online Content Commissioners to Viewer Insight to Product Management. I also work closely with our external partners, who are global entertainment brands.
My team undertake a diverse range of activities. These include: viewing prediction and analysis, inventory management, trading strategy, business forecasts, pricing and yield analysis, innovate ad products, optimise ad load while protecting UX, content strategy, client reporting and web analytics.
Programme Ratings Group Head
Channel 4 Television Corporation
Public Company; 1001-5000 employees; Broadcast Media industry
October 2006 – December 2009 (3 years 3 months) London, United Kingdom
The Programme Ratings Group Head role was focused on the key skills of forecasting and analytics. These competencies were required to predict ratings, audience volumes and programme profiles. In addition to this the team I managed also forecasted and analysed commercial impacts, competitor performance and market share. We worked within the OFCOM/COSTA code to optimise break patterns.
I undertook detailed historic and future financial analysis of the schedule by programme and day-part. Ad Sales were a key customer, providing them with programme details and viewing trends. I developed close relations with Commissioning, Scheduling and Marketing, exchanging insight into content performance and ROI. I collaborated with independent production companies, assisting them in understanding the relationship between their audience and content. As a champion of C4 programming and its commercial application, I held regular meetings with media planners and buyers throughout the UK and Ireland.
Senior Airtime Management Executive
Channel 4 Television Corporation
Public Company; 1001-5000 employees; Broadcast Media industry
March 2005 – September 2006 (1 year 7 months) London, United Kingdom
During this role I led a team responsible for the management of C4’s broadcast advertising campaigns. The core purpose of the department was to ensure C4 optimised the use of its commercial airtime. In part this was achieved through detailed analytical monitoring of trading deals, negotiating delivery plans with Ad Sales and the prediction of channel capacities. This role involved working across the organisation, most notably with Ad Sales, Scheduling, Ratings and Inventory.
