Initially time served in Electrical Engineering then switching disciplines into Process Instrumentation and Control Systems whilst with Imperial Chemical Industries (ICI) on Teesside, UK.
Specialised in Distributed Controls Systems (DCS) and programmable logic controls (Honeywell TDC, Asea Master and other PLC systems) during a 10 year spell with Elf Aquitaine Norway.
Achieved Full Tech Cert during apprenticeship then HNC, Post Graduate Certificate and finally an MSc qualifications by open learning / on-line study. (Also recently added a NEBOSH Certificate qualification to my resume and technical membership of IOSH).
In subsequent years became deeply involved in preparing Technical Publications for the Oil & Gas industries, particularly for operations, maintenance and safety (including web publishing/intranet creation/editing) and also qualified as an HSEQA Auditor.
Since Norway, have worked in the UK, USA, Malaysia/Indonesia, Saudi Arabia (and other ME contries), Venezuela, Italy, Monaco, France, the Netherlands, Russia, Nigeria, Equatorial Guinea and Tunisia, gaining wide experience of Oil and Gas projects and operations in every conceivable type of location and climate.
