Specialising in videogames, I have previously worked on and recorded a wide range of games festivals and events. I was also trained to do public speaking and writing in my teens, and have found these skills make it fairly easy for me to teach. I also produce freelance writing work on the videogames industry, and speak about the industry at conferences.

Making sure the Broadway Cinema part of the festival ran smoothly and strictly to schedule. Introducing sessions, looking after speakers. Point of contact for speakers, festival committee, technicians, bar staff, front of house staff, volunteers and members of public.
An incredibly frenetic and joyous experience :)

Most educational options inapplicable due to my highly unusual background.
I was effectively denied schooling between the ages of 11 and 18. In this period I was left alone with a very large amount of books, and also trained to do public speaking. I have taught myself many things.
After practicing photography for six years and eventually applying for a degree in it, the interviewers told me to apply directly for MAs. £3000 of debt didn't seem like a good idea for an art subject, so I turned my attention back to games, having already taught myself to do Unreal Engine level design.
Horrible, crunch-heavy studios offered me jobs after seeing my work. I turned them all down and started working on festivals as a way to find the more interesting work coming out of the field.
In the years prior to committing to games, I also taught photoshop, directed a cooperative art gallery, read extensively on psychology and motivation theory, and worked as a freelance photographer.
