The role of the Programming and Producing Manager is to create an original and high quality performance programme for children and young people, to support artists and companies inside and outside the studio, and to take responsibility for the contracting and operational logistics of all incoming companies.
Selected to become one of PRS for Music Foundation's 12 New Music Plus…UK producers. I will be working in partnership with Plymouth City Museum and Art Gallery to curate a series of music events between January 2013 and April 2014.

Adventures in Music - "A brand new series of world and folk music events for under 5s and their grown-ups. Held on the last Friday morning of each month, these 45-minute events feature live music and participation in a child-friendly atmosphere, providing fun introductions to different types of music, instruments and cultures as we listen and learn together. Taking inspiration from the City Museum and Art Gallery’s world cultures and social history collections, join us on an adventure as we bring the world to Plymouth."
Working with Le Navet Bete and Ria Hartley. Focusing on tour booking, press and fundraising.
Put on live music events across Devon. Locations in first year include Totnes, Exeter and Plymouth.

As front of house manager I managed a team of front of house assistants and volunteer stewards (students from local college). Quote from audience survey results "85% of respondents rated the staff friendliness as good or very good, no respondents rated staff friendliness as very poor."
Worked in busy box office at one of the largest arts centres in the UK
'Learning Historian' on an Arts Council England pilot scheme - Learning Histories. In this role interviewed staff, Chair, and key stakeholders.
Freelance role
Managed the Lighthouse’s involvement in the Bournemouth & Poole Cultural Hub Finale event Hubworld at Alum Chine beach.
Included managing the budget and staff, programming, developing activities, ordering materials and submitting a report post-event.
I developed an audience feedback questionnaire and arranged back stage tours.
I successfully liaised with various departments within the arts centre resulting in involvement from the majority of the organisation’s staff.
This was final major project as part of my degree - a multi-art form event promoting artists from the South West region in partnership with the Wessex Muse Magazine. This event was called Muse Platform. I worked with two other students on this large-scale project.
My core roles were artist liaison, programming and e-marketing. The event was attended by just under 2500 people and the website had over 60,000 hits.
As part of my degree, a really valuable practical module was in strategic planning. My case study was Opera Circus, a South West based Opera and physical theatre performance company. I presented three strategies to the company’s Artistic Director and received excellent feedback.
Freelance role
This was an 11-day festival with events across Dorset. I worked as the festival administrator and front of house assistant.

Responsibilities included; moving instruments, producing programme notes, providing a point of contact for participants and artists, setting up rehearsal and performance spaces, and various office duties.

My duties in this position were selling tickets, handling money, cashing up, dealing with customers by telephone and face to face, and liaising with the house manager and stewards.
I was responsible for handling all ticket purchases and enquiries on Saturdays.

In the first year of my degree I co-organised an Open Exhibition at the Dartington College of Arts Gallery. The exhibition received over 300 application requests from all over the country resulting in around 100 completed applications from artists requesting to be involved. Selected artists included Juan delGado, Zoe Hyde, and Mat Chivers.
I coordinated a closing event with live music and coverage from two newspapers. The Open Exhibition was part of a larger symposium organised by the whole first year Arts and Cultural Management student body.
Duties include selling tickets, handling money, cashing up, dealing with customers by telephone and face to face, liasing with; marketing department, programmers, facilities manager, head hosts, technicians, catering, company managers and artists.
This position was full time for the first year and then 3 days a week while I studied theatre at college. I also worked for other departments when needed such as catering & bar, children’s workshops, marketing and hosting. In addition to this I offered voluntary support to; the Visual Arts and Cinema programmer, the Education officer, and the Marketing department.
In this role I was required to encourage school leavers to go on to study in Higher Education while supporting them in their participation in theatre workshops leading up to a public performance.

I was selected to participate in a 2-week Arts School Lab at the Barbican Centre in July 2012 exploring arts and social change, including a residency at Bauhaus, Dessau.
