After graduating from Leicester university in 2006, I joined a Cisco training company in an administrative role. For the next two years I bounced between operations and marketing before being asked to co-found a new Cisco consultancy firm, ProNet Expert. Despite being a fantastic learning experience, I eventually decided to part company after 12 months and move back into marketing.

Having gained an insight into SEO during my time at ProNet, I felt this was where the most exciting marketing opportunities lay for small businesses trying to establish their brands online. I spent six months learning the basics and building relationships with a couple of real experts (most notably my future colleague, James Macfarlane) and by January 2010 The SME Marketing Company was born.

For the last two years I have worked tirelessly on my understanding of SEO and all other forms of Inbound Marketing. While most of my time is spent on the management of the company, I frequently take the lead on the strategy of campaigns particularly where SEO and conversion optimisation are concerned.

We are currently planning our re-brand, after which our intentions are to scale our operations and become the most admired Inbound Marketing agency in the UK.
