Environmental Coordinator for the University of Hertfordshire, managing the Environmental Management System and ensuring the University maintains it's ISO 14001 and EcoCampus Platinum status.

Manage the University's EMS to the ISO 14001 and EcoCampus Platinum standard.
Engage with staff and students across the University to increase awareness of the environment and how they can reduce their impact which in turn will hopefully mean the University will meet it's targets in all areas including waste recycling rates, biodiversity, energy etc.
Responsible for implementing those public transport improvements made in St Albans, under the brand name Network St Albans, in Hemel Hempstead and Watford.
Started Masters degree, Environmental Management for Agriculture in September 2012, part time for 2 years (IEMA, CIWEM accredited).
Completed 2 day workshop entitled "Why won't they change?" learning about the psychology behind why people won't change their behaviour to become more sustainable or more environmentally friendly.
Assisting in the implementation and further development of an area wide Quality Network Partnership for the St Albans City Centre, through developing links with city centre businesses and local partners, and to establish and lead regular meetings with these bodies in order to determine how best to collect transport data within the partnership areas.
Coordinate and support the work of partnership working groups for the development and implementation of specific travel measures. Develop data collection methodologies and tools, with input from other partners. The data collected will be collated and input into appropriate data analysis tools.
To attend Local Strategic Partnership (LSP) meetings on behalf of the University QNP Coordinator(s) in order to report back progress on this subject within the local area, and to give progress updates to the LSP.
Carried out a feasibility study for the development of a potential woodfuel supply business for Uttlesford District Council.
This involved developing a basic business plan, identifying the potential market, and sources of raw material.
Placement year with the world’s largest chemical company BASF.
The job involved marking out, spraying, assessment and combining of all field trials, data entry of results from assessments, creation of skip maps, seed treatment, gain analysis and general maintenance of all equipment and the warehouse.
I was also the student personally responsible for all chemical measuring and inventory as well as all other student duties as given above.
This involved measuring and dispatching chemical for internal and external trials. This process had to be carried out in an organised systematic way, within a tight deadline.
Also carried out my own field trial designed by the company and wrote a scientific report on the results, which BASF’s marketing team would utilise to market one of the company’s new products.
Awarded BASF's Woolpit student of the year and awarded a Recognition Award for my 'efforts for sample management and dispatch' whilst covering a permanent employee who was off sick.
Also awarded the University of Hertfordshire's 'Placement Student of the Year' for the School of Geography and Environmental Management 2009/2010.
Gained the NPTC PA1 and PA6a certificate in the safe use and spraying of pesticides
