Andy Edwards

I am an independent broadcast journalist and media consultant working across a range of areas including current affairs, culture and sport with the emphasis in the latter on athletics.

I am MC at press conferences for the Virgin London Marathon and BMW Berlin Marathon during their respective raceweeks, working bilingually in German and English whenever I'm in Germany. During these events I am also the in-vision video interviewer and podcast reporter and also play a similar role at marathons such as Frankfurt, Dubai and Prague .

Among my live broadcasting work, I am chief athletics commentator for IEC in Sports' television coverage. I also report on athletics for BBC World Service radio.

For the Voice of America's London Bureau, I work as a freelance producer covering culture and sport.

As a translator and reporter I work for various companies including the websites of the Vienna City Marathon, the BMW Frankfurt Marathon and the Anglo-German site "Take the Magic Step."

I began my journalist career at BBC World Service in Bush House in 1978 and went freelance in 1984, working subsequently for a variety of organisations including Worldwide TV News, now APTN, Capital Radio, Eurosport and Reuters.
