Alistair Elliott's Summary
I joined Knight Frank in 1983, spending the first 20 years of my career in the office sector, particularly development and agency, during which time I was involved in a wide range of projects throughout the south east.
During this time, I advised a cross section of ‘landlords’ including, PruPIM, Landid, British Land, Canary Wharf plc., St Martins, AXA, Segro, Schroders, Brixton and Akeler on schemes such as Green Park Reading, Aviator Park Addlestone, Canary Wharf, Farnborough Business Park and The Ark Hammersmith.
I then moved into expanding the KF business with interest in a range of areas including logistics and industrial, hotels and healthcare.
I was appointed an Equity Partner in 1995.
In early 2006 I was appointed Head of the Commercial business within the UK, comprising some 11 commercial offices throughout England, Scotland and Wales.
In 2013 I was appointed Senior Partner & Group Chairman. In this role I Chair the Executive Board, the principal focus of which is to develop the firm's global strategy.
I have been an active member of LandAid over many years and in 2013 accepted an invitation to join as a Trustee.

Knight Frank's Commercial Division provides investment, agency and professional services across core sectors of office, retail and industrial as well as hotels, student accommodation, healthcare and other emerging sectors across the UK and global markets.
As Head of the Commercial Division, I was responsible for our 11 UK commercial offices, comprising some 550 people in c.40 teams.
Despite the challenging markets, the focus continued to be medium term growth in the UK whilst developing and integrating our European businesses, where Knight Frank has a huge opportunity. The objective remained to maintain core agency skills, whilst building the consulting areas and developing new opportunities, and placing a very significant emphasis on client management.
The commercial business traded profitability during each year of this period.

In this role I was responsible for a team of 20 focusing on all aspects of the office market, the prime geographical area being London suburbs, M25 and M4.
Key projects included the likes of Canary Wharf, Hammersmith Embankment, Green Park Reading, Windmill Hill Swindon, and with active involvement in most of the principle M4/M25 towns. The highlight of this work was unquestionably the letting in 2000 of some 750,000 sq ft at Green Park, Reading to Cisco.
Particular highlights include the acquisition of headquarters for Texaco and Readers Digest both at Canary Wharf. In addition he undertook a range of other work for occupiers including Reckitt Benckiser, Xerox, Pharmacia and Upjohn, CSC Computer Sciences and Hitachi Europe.
