I am a mainstream corporate transactional specialist: principally acquisitions and disposals, management buy outs, equity and VC investments, and corporate strategy and restructuring for exit and succession.
My route into law, after reading Modern History at Christ Church, Oxford, was articles with Hugh Johnson at Biddle & Co (now part of Pinsent Masons). Admitted as a solicitor in 1979, I worked first in London and then Bristol, before joining Ashfords in 1996.
As well as holding a number of non-executive directorships and trusteeships in the South West, I am involved in the wider business community in the region, and have been teaching and thinking about legal ethics and professional conduct for much of my professional career.
As a speaker at various seminars and workshops, I cover risk and risk management, professional conduct and conflicts of interest, entrepreneurship and enterprise.
Corporate transactions; exit strategies and succession planning; corporate and professional governance; professional conduct and ethics
