During my time in publishing, I was employed by four very different publishing houses. Starting out at Frances Lincoln, a small independent publisher, I was quickly promoted from Publicity & Marketing Assitant to Publicity & Marketing Manager, with overall responsibility for the promotion of the entire list.

At Orion, one of the major mainstream UK publishers, I worked solely on the children's list, and launched several new authors with successful high-profile campaigns, including Michelle Paver's Chronicles of Ancient Darkness and Caroline Lawrence's The Roman Mysteries series. During this period I also gained significant experience in event management, organising author tours, festival and school events.

I have also had experience of the academic sector, at John Wiley - one of the world's oldest publishers - at which I worked on the Business, Finance and Architecture lists.

Most recently I worked for the Guild of Master Craftsmen's publishing and books distribution arm in Lewes, where I was responsible for the promotion of its eclectic lists, which includes arts, crafts, hobbies and lifestyle.

Outside of office hours I write freelance for several publications, including children's book reviews for Carousel magazine and music reviews for The Detour and reviewedonline.co.uk. I also keep a regular blog - www.rowstar.blogspot.com
