Prior to joining Specsavers Phil managed development at SeeWhy and architected the integration layers. Havinf previously been the technical/architect lead at Hi-Q for developing a middleware product for adoption across the back office applications within the UK armed forces. Before this Phil performed technical and team leading roles for EDS and GEC group on a range solutions, from military mobile radar through to Trans-Atlantic ATC and innovative operational displays of real-time synthetic environments, employing a diverse mix of technologies from Ada with X/Motif to Java (SE/EE) and Oracle.

As a side line Phil runs several websites for community organisations using CMS based technologies.
