Working in Euston House, I represented BRIS in negotiating UK-wide Infrastructure maintenance and renewal contracts with Railtrack for the soon-to-be-privatised maintenance companies worth £1.2 Billion per annum.

Starting at the planning stage, I lead the client implementation team and reported to the Group Board for the planning, design, procurement, construction and participated at senior level with the operational organisation set up. Opening in 1989, London City Airport was the prototype commercial STOLport and the first wholly new airport in the UK for 40 years.
I went on to develop the technical proposals, oversaw the first EU Directive Environmental Impact Assessment and project managed the longest planning inquiry in the UK for the extended runway to allow jet operation. I subsequently project managed the extension project to it's successful opening by HRH Princess Diana in 1993
