At Capital One I am responsible for managing 6 Data Centre’s around the UK. This involves liaising with third party vendors to ensure smooth and incident free maintenance within the raised floor environment.
I have experience in planning floor space with regard to electricity and cooling standards. Once the planning is done I also carried out all Hardware Installs at all of our Strategic Data Centres.
While carrying out this role I took over all Hardware building and fault analysis/repairs. Due to this I am now a HP Certified Server Engineer and also CompTIA Certified.
Green Initiatives have always been a major focus while in this role as I wanted the Capital One Data Centres to be as environmentally friendly as possible.
This role also involved administrating the organisations Configuration Management Database (CMDB) and Change and Incident Management for my department.
