Warfare (Executive Branch) Officer with primary seagoing role being direct responsibility to the Commanding Officer for conduct of safe navigation and charge of routine operations in a 4,500 tonne warship (namely Type 23 Duke class) at sea and also alongside.
Sub specialised in Maritime Intelligence after gaining necessary security clearances; role was head of intelligence team directing production of daily/weekly/adhoc products as required by the Command.
Further qualified as Command Meteorological Advisor, Wholeship Health and Safety Co-ordinator and officer in charge of Royal Naval Boarding Team. Additional responsibilities included pastoral responsibility for twelve individuals (including Equal Opportunities advice, education and career guidance) and coordination of a number of high profile foreign port visits; most notably Karachi, Pakistan, for the international exercise AMAN '09.
Undertook Air Traffic Control training and also spent time working with the Directorate of Naval Recruitment in Central London and Guildford.
