• My role is to maximise the positive media coverage of the FSB’s lobbying activities as we advance the cause of small firms across the UK.

• This was a central position at the Council having both a high profile within the organisation for the officers and also externally for our electors to be able to access the democratic and decision-making processes.
• The methods of the team were radically altered and improved while I was in charge through introducing methods from my previous work experiences outside local government. The improvement to Council procedures was very noticeable.

Matthew Knowles' Additional Information
- Interests:
-
In my spare time I ran a campaign to recognise the late John Charles’ services to football, gaining over 2500 letters of support - appearing on several radio and television programmes, including Sky Sports ‘Soccer AM’ as well as being interviewed for newspapers in Wales and Yorkshire. Many celebrities and politicians were recruited to participate in the campaign using my lobbying and PR skills to achieve success. John received a CBE on June 16th 2001. I am a keen follower of sports, I enjoy reading – mainly non-fiction - and I also like travelling. After making many friends from over 15 different countries whilst studying in Strasbourg I maintain these friendships through e-mail and visits to foreign countries.
