Kate Andrews is a British born design writer and communications consultant. Educated at the Arts Institute at Bournemouth, she holds a first class honors in Graphic Design, a Merit Award from The International Society of Typographic Designers and in 2008 she was nominated and accepted as a Fellow of The Royal Society of Arts (RSA). Kate is currently studying a part time MA in Design Writing Criticism at London College of Communication.
During her undergraduate studies Kate's interests and work became heavily focused on themes surrounding creative intelligence and education. After graduating, Kate worked as an editorial designer and innovation consultant, before turning her hands to address the severe lack of ethically responsible and socially responsive practice in Communication Design. Strongly believing that design can effect social change, Kate has since worked with a significant number of individuals and organisations across the creative industries and social sectors. Kate has also spent over 3 years mentoring design graduates.
As a design writer, Kate has written for the likes of Eye Magazine, Inhabitat.com, Greengaged, UNESCO's Design21, thinkpublic, Goodlifer, Behance, Design Sessions, Social Design Site, thomas.matthews and others.
