DBFS set up a new business arm, DBFS Recruitment Ltd., to actively seek new business independent from the company’s software development projects, whilst also providing internal resourcing and support functions to on-site software development project managers.
Main Responsibilities:
• Placements included Software Developers, Project Managers, Business Analysts with financial institutes such as BNP Paribas, JP Morgan, Barclays Capital, HSBC Group as well as feeding developers into our own on-site teams.
• Creation of entire suites of procedures, best practices, USPs, training and guidelines for the business and new hires.
• Project Management: Liaising with business line managers for requirements gathering, drawing up job descriptions and negotiating budgets.
• Client presentations across the City to market the DBFS brand and its business solutions.
• Creation of branded marketing material, print brochures, case studies and fact sheets.
• Creation of IT and financial tests and exams and candidate interview Question Banks.
• Liaising with directors and chairing daily and weekly performance meetings.
• Creation of a 2nd and 3rd tier structure of specialist IT recruitment agencies.
• Managing the entire resourcing process – candidate selection / examination / grading / interviewing / contracts / renewals.
• Staff management, hiring, training, motivation and performance.
Notable Achievements: Placements with several Investment Banks, brand awareness and recognition in The City, PSL inclusion with organisations such as HSBC Group, BNP Paribas and JP Morgan.

Thames Research followed on from the work I did at InfoEdge and provided clients with IT Research, Business Intelligence, Market Statistics and Analysis reports from a wide range of world-leading sources including Gartner, Datamonitor, Giga, Meta and Forester Research.
These resources were marketed/available to clients and non-clients involving over 40,000 contacts, mainly in Europe.
Clients ranged from small consultancies to some of the most well known brands worldwide, including Microsoft, Siemens, Hewlett Packard, Lloyds TSB plc and Barclays. Some of my clients are from companies and organisations which I personally find fascinating, such as aviation, formula one and satellite manufacturers.
My database of contacts is kept up-to-date with reports relevant to them in areas of business and technology such as Knowledge Management, CRM, Business Strategy and issues relating to Internet strategy and Applications Integration. This contact is either in the form of a telephone conversation or by means of a carefully designed newsletter aimed directly at them.
