January 2011 – March 2011 (3 months)
I provided technology and business support for all the systems within Prime Finance, including Global Prime, International Prime Brokerage and Stock Lending.
Quantitative Engineer - Low Latency Trading
SAC Global Investors
June 2010 – December 2010 (7 months)
SAC Global Investors is the European subsidiary of the US based SAC Capital hedge fund. I joined the London offices to run high frequency trade support.
• Took ownership of all the European high frequency trading platforms; quickly established close working relationship with brokers and network providers enabling fast production issue identification and resolution.
• Worked with the portfolio managers to migrate their trading platforms to the latest iteration of the company's proprietary 'Ohms' platform within pre-defined time frames.
• Systematically identified areas for improvement, e.g. lack of common toolset for the support team to use; framework upon which to build a toolset; lack of audit trail on config file changes. Designed, developed and seamlessly implemented these tools and changes into the existing production environment.
• Managed fast, efficient, error-free system migration to lower-latency broker-execution platforms, resulting in at least 2-3ms latency reductions in round-trip-time.
• Designed, developed and implemented high-speed Java XML market data feed handler for EBS Ai, allowing the data to integrate into one team's high frequency FX trading platform.
• Efficiently coordinated the five teams involved in the provision, build-out and network configuration of the company's exchange co-located strategies.

• Designed, configured and built out RGM's first three European exchange trading platforms.
• Provided expert troubleshooting and problem resolution on issues where no root cause could be previously identified.
• Regularly identified areas for improvement and developed the most appropriate solution. e.g. built standard framework for monitoring and alerting on time-series data; built a Python jabber bot for the company's Instant Message network for real-time alert communication of system issues.
• Developed a console based application to provide up to the second insight onto the FX trading platforms.
• Worked with development, research and network teams to test and keep abreast of new, upcoming technologies which may improve the company's edge.
• Provided second line risk management support; applying market knowledge and business understanding to minimise risk during unnatural events when Market Managers were not available.
• Worked with Compliance to ensure London adhered to all regulations and responsibilities under the exchange membership agreements.
