Promoted from Senior Software Developer to Development team leader within Madgex.
My normal role involved line management responsibility for up to 9 developers, consultation and costing on pre-sales activities ranging from highly customised bespoke job board offerings, to small enhancements on existing systems, as well as remaining hands-on with active development on our code bases.
Whilst in this role, I was actively involved in a number of projects, mainly making use of the combination of my organisation skills and technical skills to "steer" a project roll-out to completion.
The most recent of these involved working alongside a Project Manager to oversee the second delivery of a new version of an extended product into the marketplace. This involved focussing on the day to day technical management of the team, improving processes and communication within the rest of the business, communication with the client and being hands on to fix and analyse issues.
Previous projects whilst in this role have included helping out with the delivery of a number of job boards - often at a bug-fixing and/or support stage for clients such as Axel Springer and GMG Regional, analysing the technical requirements for an international system, working with other departments to try and streamline processes and communication mechanisms, representing Madgex within the technical community and working on the new CV Search & Match product initially launched for the Guardian, but now rolled out across Centaur and UBM.
