    (Education Management industry)

    December 2008December 2009 (1 year 1 month)

During 2009 I participated in the prestigious Saltire Fellowship, a tailored programme aimed at producing the next generation of business leaders for Scotland. At Babson College (rated best in the world for entrepreneurial education) I learned about all aspects of business including leadership, entrepreneurship, marketing, sales, innovation management, and accounting. I experienced working in a global marketing organisation on a three month placement with Sun Microsystems in Silicon Valley, where I delivered new lead management and measurement systems worldwide. Finally I carried out a maket assessment for Scottish company ATEEDA, identifying appropriate sectors, geographies and partners for the launch of a new product.

  • Saltire Fellow

(Public Company; JAVA; Information Technology and Services industry)

    May 2009July 2009 (3 months)

Delivered a project relating to improved tracking of the effect of marketing activity on the performance of the extended channel.

  • Chief Technical Officer

    CHIL

(Privately Held; Information Technology and Services industry)

    June 2005December 2008 (3 years 7 months)

CHIL offer a range of applications to telecommunications providers based on a proprietary platform technology. I led the teams that delivered the first production version of the platform (from Ukraine) and the first major application to a customer (Orange UK). In doing so I built a professionalised development organisation and a solid platform for growth.

As part of the management team of a small company, I contributed to all aspects of the business. This included building the team (both technical and sales staff), managing our outsourcing strategy (reducing a 15 strong team in Ukraine as relative costs changed over time) and developing the market offering.
