I am an experienced Lead Technical Solutions Consultant focusing on discovery, design, implementation and integration with HP, Dell and IBM hardware. I specialise in Blade Technology, SAN Fabrics and Storage Virtualisation Technologies such as NetApp OnTap, IBM SVC, Datacore Storage Virtualization and "Virtually" everything else centred around VMware Virtual Infrastructure 3.

VMware are the global leader in virtualisation software. Virtualisation is an abstraction layer that decouples the physical hardware from the operating system to deliver greater IT resource utilisation and flexibility.

Virtualisation allows multiple virtual machines, with heterogeneous operating systems to run in isolation, side-by-side on the same physical machine. Each virtual machine has its own set of virtual hardware upon which an operating system and applications are loaded. The operating system sees a consistent, normalised set of hardware regardless of the actual physical hardware components.

I have lead teams in delivering large consolidation, data centre migration, disaster recovery and P2V projects utilising virtualisation technology with framework governance using methodologies such as PRINCE2, ITIL and VMware VIM . I am responsible for delivery of end-to-end projects, from pre-sales to writing proposals, statement of works through to discovery, design, implementation planning, deployment, testing and of course migration projects.

Migration of physical workloads to virtual.
Designing and deployment planning of the enterprise infrastructure to support the migrations and future operations. Operational transition of managing the workloads once they are running in a virtual environment and defining the processes and procedures that are required for optimised operation of the workloads as well as the backup, restore and BC/DR implications of virtualisation.
