Community Safety Partnership Coordinator
I have over ten years experience of working within both one tier and two tier local authorities and in partnership with agencies such as the police. I have also worked within a variety of academic institutions both as a lecturer as well as a post-graduate researcher. My roles have varied from performance managing a multi-agency team delivering work on anti-social behaviour to the development of policy around tackling fear of crime. I am at present the borough lead on tackling Fear of Crime; Mainstreaming Community Safety and policy development around Anti-Social Behaviour.
I have extensive experience in developing, project managing, analysing and implementing a variety of projects within the social policy arena. My specialist areas of work include community safety and partnership development. My most recent project was implementing the recommendations on raising service standards from our Community Safety Partnership Comprehensive Performance Assessment.
I am a member of the British Criminological Society and the Open University which gives me the opportunity to keep up to date with the latest developments within social policy. As part of my time with the Open University and the other institutions I have worked for I have developed the skills to communicate complex theories as well as politically sensitive messages to a variety of audiences. From providing monthly highlight reports to performance boards to briefings for council members I have the experience to provide information in a timely and clear manner. I have also managed external funding budgets and have lead on successful tendering projects which have to be reported upon frequently. I am a member of the corporate procurement and commissioning board which oversees the implementation of the council’s financial regulations.

I lecture on a third level course D315 Crime and Disorder. My main roles are to develop and manage tutorials and support students. I am also an examiner for this course. I have recently been successful in applying to teach on a masters degree course in community safety.
My main role was to co-ordinate partnership working to tackle anti-social behaviour. This work predominantly involved the development of anti-social behaviour procedures, protocols and strategies as well as front line enforcement of anti-social behaviour legislation. I also managed a multi-agency anti-social behaviour team.
I have a BA Honours Degree in History and Social Legal Studies
