Summary

Dot Georgoulas is a communication designer, typographer and type designer. Dot provides conceptual design skills, strategic design management and implementation to achieve design solutions.

In December 2012 she completed a Masters in Typeface Design from the Department of typography at the University of Reading, United Kingdom. With an interest in multi-script typography, Dot travelled to Gujarat, India as part of her research into the Gujarati script.

She was the lead senior communication designer for Museum Victoria's Science and life gallery redevelopment project for four new exhibitions in 2008 to 2011. These projects won national and international awards including a SEGD merit award in 2010.

Dot has mentored, tutored and taught design in workshops within Melbourne, Australia.

She has an Australian and International award winning portfolio in the areas of: art direction, identity, exhibition and environmental graphic design, interactive design, print communication and publication design.

Practical project: Nari typeface design in Latin and Gujarati. A serif typeface family designed for multi-script typography for exhibition literature and publications.

Dissertation: An investigation into Gujarati display hand-painted lettering and how it can inform contemporary typeface design.
