I provide mature planning, advisory, management and hands-on support for all editorial dimensions of online and offline projects - from international web relaunches to the writing of training manuals.
My work derives from a rare blend of journalistic, strategic, technical and UX skills. It normally pivots around three activities: audits and requirements-gathering, synthesis of business and user needs and editorial production planning/execution.

I manage all user experience aspects of smaller online projects or join forces with other agencies (most recently OgilvyOne and DigitasLBi) to focus on Content Strategy on larger projects.
Attracted £300k+ philanthropic funding then built and with three staff and two interns maintained a Which?-style online guide to charities - the UK's most popular non-transactional charity site. Featured in all national newspapers, on national radio and TV, and viewed as a loud and provocative voice in the voluntary sector.
Led the User Experience/Content workstream on web/intranet projects for large corporates. Incorporated user research, taxonomy, style guides, tone of voice guides, use cases, input training - in close partnership with technical and business workstreams.
Project manager and trainer, creating and managing country- and language-specific websites for each EMEA territory in which PwC has a presence.
Interviewed seminal internet figures including Vint Cerf and experimented with emerging technologies including IRC and QTVR. Also contributed to and sub-edited the world's best-selling internet guide, "The Rough Guide to the Internet"
Ran small national magazine, co-ordinating advertising, printing and publisher requirements. Conceived and wrote/commissioned articles and regular columns. Interviewed broad range of celebrities, captains of industry etc. Worked with designers to lay out then proof-read/cut/expand articles, compose headlines, subheads and captions. Rewrote contributed copy.
