Hammerkit is the global pioneer in providing repeatable digital solutions to the PR industry. Hammerkit specialise in turning one-off web projects into repeatable digital solutions - which allow PR agencies to deploy campaigns faster and with consistently higher quality which deliver increase revenues with higher profitability. As VP Sales I was responsible for establishing the company's presence in the UK and developing commercial relationships with PR agencies.
Niocom is a broadcast media company that owned and operated commercial radio stations in the UK (see below) . In the various managerial roles I have fullfilled with Niocom, and its subsidiary companies, I have experience in starting-up enterprises; company formation & structure; seed & venture capital funding; company acquisition; due diligence; fiscal governance; business turnaround & rescue; sales & marketing growth initiatives; exit strategy.
Central Radio (Proud FM Ltd) was the commercial radio station for Preston, South Ribble & Chorley. Broadcasting to the UK's newest city with a TSA of 281,000. Central Radio was a relatively new but loss-making business and I successfully negotiated its purchase from UTV in 2010. The operation was moved and co-located with our other station (Dune FM) and immediately benefited from cost savings and greater economies of scale. Central Radio was successfully sold to the radio group UKRD and rebranded as 106.5 The Bee in July 2011.
Dune FM was a commercial radio station for Southport, Formby, Ormskirk and Maghull. Serving a TSA of 208,000 in West Lancs and the Merseyside borough of Sefton. Dune was a long-term loss-making business with declining listenership. Within eigteen months of acquiring the business, I had cauterised its losses and doubled its audience. Dune was successfully sold in December 2010 to Southport Radio Ltd.
Cheshire FM was the community radio station for mid Cheshire serving Northwich, Winsford and Middlewich with a TSA of 93,500. As founder I co-authored the successful bid document for the licence and appointed the non-executive Board. As Chief Exec of Cheshire FM, a not-for-profit company limited by guarantee, I raised all the seed capital for establishing the operation and managed all commercial and programming once operational. In 2008, Cheshire FM was awarded Business Start-up of the year by Cheshire County Council.
Wire FM is the commercial radio station that serves the Warrington, Widnes and Runcorn areas of Cheshire & Halton - a TSA of 278,000. As one of the founders, I was responsible for bringing together the consortium which successful bid for the licence. I continued on the Board as part of the start-up team that launched the station and established it's dominant market share. In 1999 we successfully negotiated our exit strategy when we sold the station to The Wireless Group (now UTV) . Wire FM continues to be a profitable business with a turnover circa £1m.
TouchStar headquartered in Manchester, manufactures a range of TouchPC rugged, hand-held computers and application software to business users around the world. TouchStar’s sales base extends principally across five worldwide locations, including the UK, USA, mainland Europe, Australia and New Zealand. I was responsible for all managing all direct sales & channel partners in the UK & Ireland with a turnover of £5m
Intermec Inc. (NYSE:IN) develops, manufactures and integrates the most sophisticated tools for the fully coordinated supply chain. Headquartered in Everett, Washington State, USA, it is perhaps best known as the inventor of the world's most widely used bar code symbology and for its 154+ patents critical to the development and use of RFID technology. I was responsible for establishing a strategic accounts division and delivering new business revenues in excess of £2m
Telxon Corporation engaged in the design, manufacture, integration, marketing, and support of wireless and portable tele-transaction computers and systems worldwide. It served retail, industrial, transportation, logistics, insurance, mobile workforce automation, public safety, financial, manufacturing, education, healthcare, and other vertical markets. The company was founded in 1969 and was based in Cincinnati, Ohio. I was responsible for new business sales into corporate retailers such as Littlewoods and catalogue/online retailers such as Grattan, GUS and N Brown. Consistetly exceeding personal revenue target of £1.5m qualifying as global MVP 4 years on the run.
