I joined a four-man team developing a new reporting branch of the existing Finechain software. The development role consisted of programming in Java, J2EE (mainly JSP’s and JBDC) and Oracle PL/SQL whilst required knowledge of the browser-client, web-tier architecture and Oracle RDBMS. It also involved maintenance of the last two releases of the software, 3rd-tier support for customers and technical support for the Quality Assurance department, as well as the development of new functionality and working with the Planning team on functional specifications.
Some of the major projects were, I created 3 new reports going through the entire development life cycle. I was a major contributor to a code refactor changing from Oracle Reports Server to an in house J2EE web based solution using Java, JSPS and Jasper reports. I introduced Junit to the team and created an automated nightly testing environment using batch files and Ant scripts to ensure integrity of the latest code
