I developed and administer a club communications and information sharing system for the club using enterprise class open source components. It allows club members to connect up to and use club resources wherever they have a wide area connection.

The Motorcycle Action Group is a pressure group for bikers in the UK with around 10,000 members.
I specified, installed and maintain an entirely open source internet services server at the MAG offices that provides a growing number of internet services to members including several dozen web sites for local and regional groups as well as some for partner organisations. It also provides enterprise class email, calendar, ftp and DNS services, allowing the organisation to cut back on external service charges and license fees and insulate them from service provider failures .. one of which was the instigation of the project.

As the owner/operator I look after all aspects of the company, from sales and strategy, tax, accounts and other red tape through to answering the phones. This involves keeping a daily close eye on the logs and notification emails and making sure that any service alerts from my companies monitoring system are handled swiftly and without any actual user affecting incident.
