Background

Summary

I am a consultant with ten years’ experience in project management, strategic development and communications. I have an entrepreneurial approach, having built up my career from managing arts organisations to include clients in education, technology and hospitality, and expanded my skills to include website design, financial management and partnership building. I am now looking to embed myself in an exciting and innovative organisation, so that I can use my skills to make an impact on a larger scale and drive forward a bigger mission. I am particularly interested to hear from organisations in the arts, education, technology, or fashion.

Experience

Strategic Consulting & Project Management

Freelance Consultant
– Present (6 years 3 months)London | Remote

Strategic consulting, project management and communications in non-profit and commercial sectors. I built a client base from scratch, successfully pitching to existing contacts and new leads, and securing repeat contracts. I have worked on projects lasting from a month to three years and managed a wide portfolio of projects simultaneously.

Key projects include:
■ Project managing Culture Hack East (a “hackathon”) for arts/technology start up Caper: developing stakeholder relationships with leading cultural and digital organisations (including Fitzwilliam Museum and the London Review of Books) and freelance developers and designers, planning and delivering the digital marketing campaign, and collating and disseminating data sets in appropriate formats
■ Strategic planning for an arts and political programme launched by Kate Willoughby Productions: clarifying the Company’s goals, developing the brand, and identifying partnership and marketing strategies
■ Digital marketing for an international hotel group, including website design for two restaurants and digital marketing consultancy for a boutique hotel
■ Fundraising and communications for Expert Subject Advisory Groups (ESAG), a primary education initiative launched by the UK Government: guiding ESAG through a period of organisational change by raising funds for its second year of operation and planning and implementing an interim communications strategy
■ Research and marketing for the University of Essex: leading the prospect research function; scoping and researching candidates for a potential ‘Ambassador network’ to support priority areas at the University; launching a marketing campaign to raise awareness of the impact of philanthropy on the University, including overseeing new corporate web pages and large format marketing materials externally on campus
